Mark your calendar and plan to attend the 140th Glencoe Fall Fair, taking place on September 23-25, a community tradition and homecoming for many friends and family.    I am so excited to be a part of the 2016 planning committee as we have a stellar line up for the entire weekend.

Tractors and Tailgates” is the official theme for the fair, a great opportunity to showcase the grassroots of our rural community and a perfect theme to incorporate into the plans for the weekend.

When you receive your fair book please take a few minutes and look through all the hard work that our volunteers have put together for the upcoming fair. Some of the classes have been modified; some classes have even been added to encourage more exhibitors. I challenge everyone to enter at least one class.

Beyond the classes take a close look at the weekend schedule, it looks fantastic!   We have made a few changes this year that you don’t want to miss out; on Friday night there will be the rejuvenated Demolition Derby and we have now added a slo pitch tournament and a Mini Rod Tractor Pull coming in on Sunday.  Of course we have our regular features such as Homeniuk Midway all weekend, on Friday; evening Opening Ceremonies featuring award winning Leahy – The Next Generation, and a fastball tournament. On Saturday; parade, 4-H & Livestock Shows, KidsZone and the fair dance and on Sunday; interdenominational church service, Dog Agility Competition and the Lawn Mower Races.

Keep in touch with us on the Glencoe Fair website, and on our Facebook page, as we are always posting new announcements, events and pictures throughout the entire year.

As the annual fair is our largest event of the year, the members of the Glencoe Agricultural Society needs to be recognized and commended for their year around commitment and contribution to the community above and beyond the fair.  The countless hours that have gone into such events as the: Youth Dances, Chili Cook Off, Men’s Night, Girl’s Night Out, Mom to Mom’s Sale, Home & Garden Show, Truck & Tractor Pull, Ugly Sweater Dance ... just name a few, identifies the passion these volunteers have for their community.  Thank you to the entire fairboard membership for your support.   As many people are aware last year was a very challenging year financially for the agricultural society.   With the necessary upgrade to the heating and cooling systems at the “Ag. Hall”, the fairboard has had to work extra hard to ensure a successful transition and we would like to thank everyone for your continuous support.  The donations are still being received and are all greatly appreciated.  Not only for “Heating The Hall” but for all the events and activities organized by the agricultural society – the people, businesses and organizations of this community have a huge heart and we thank you for that.

Thank you once again for all that you do to support the Glencoe Agricultural Society. We work hard to offer facilities and unique events for the community to enjoy throughout the year and we sincerely couldn’t do it without your support as a partner, exhibitor, volunteer or attendee, thank you !

See you at the fair !
