FRIDAY September 25th


5:00 pm   

  • World’s Finest Shows Midway Opens

  • Homecraft(Ag. Hall) and Commercial Building (Hockey Arena) Open

  • NEW THIS YEAR: Junior and School Fair Exhibits Will Remain up in the Hockey Arena All Weekend for Your Viewing Enjoyment

7:30 pm     

  • Variety Show Featuring

  • Official Fair Opening

  • Crowning of the 2009-10 Glencoe Fair Ambassador

  • Musical Entertainment by Jade Lester, 2008 winner of the Ontario Youth Talent

  • Competition at the Western Fair and the Canadian Youth Talent Competition

  • Comedy and juggling Entertainer “The Ben Show

  • Beer Garden with Musical Entertainment by Justin Plet

 

SATURDAY September 26th


9:00 am 

  • Fair Gates Open

9:45 am 

  • Commercial (Hockey Arena) and Exhibit Buildings (Ag. Hall) Open

  • Parade Participants to Line Up at Ekcoe School

 

10:30 am 

  • Parade leaves Ekcoe School

  • Featuring Great Music and Entertainment including the Strathroy Legion Pipe Band, London Mocha Shriner Oriental Band, and the Hillibilly Clan 59

  • Livestock Shows and Demonstrations All Day Including Heavy Horses, Beef Cattle, Sheep, Swine and many 4-H and Intercounty Shows

  • 4-H Swine–11:00 am, 4-H Sheep–Noon, 4-H Beef– 1:00 pm, 4-H Dairy–1:30 pm

 

12:00 

  • Noon World’s Finest Shows Midway opens

  • Parade Passes in Front of the Grandstand with Commentary by Gord Mitchell

  • Beer Garden Opens with Live Musical Entertainment by Justin Plet

  • “Quiet Corner” opens for parents and young children in the Curling Arena lounge

1:00 pm 

  • Youth and Junior Talent Search Competition in front of the Grandstand, winners to move on to the Western Fair

1:30 pm

  •  Budokan Academy Martial Arts Demonstration in the Curling Arena

2:30 pm 

  • Glencoe Horticultural Society Demonstration – Composting – in the Curling Arena

3:00 pm 

  • Free Kids games in front of the grandstand, with prizes

3:30 pm 

  • Ambassador events – come and see all the Ambassador participants in action

4:00 pm 

  • NEW: Free Kids Draw – Lots of Prizes with the grand prize of a Bicycle, donated by McNaughtons’s Home Hardwar in Newbury

4:30 pm 

  • Homecraft exhibit Building closes for removal of Exhibits

9:00 pm 

  • Dance in Both Buildings Featuring Two Great Bands – Rumblefish and Easy Mark

SUNDAY September 27th

 

10:00 am 

  • Fair Gates Open

10:30 am 

  • Registration for Demolition Derby begins

11:00 am 

  • Non-Denominational Church Service in the Agricultural Hall
  • World’ s Finest Shows Midway Opens

12:00 Noon

  • Commercial Building (Hockey Arena) Opens
  • Ball Hockey Tournament Begins – Contact Bob Thirlwall for Details (519-289-9010)

1:00 pm

  • Demolition Derby Begins
  • Chain Saw Demonstration by Ron Sharpe (between Derby classes)
